Partnering in Faith, Safety, and Care 

Hello, my name is Officer Chad A. Nalls, and I am honored to serve as the School Resource Officer for Sumiton Christian Schools. It is a privilege to be part of a community that values faith, education, and the wellbeing of every student.

The role of a School Resource Officer goes far beyond safety alone. While maintaining a secure campus is an important responsibility, my goal is also to build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families. I strive to be a visible, approachable presence; someone students feel comfortable talking to, asking questions, or turning to when they need help.

At Sumiton Christian Schools, my mission is to support a safe and nurturing environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and personally. I work closely with school leadership and faculty to help prevent problems before they arise, respond appropriately when challenges occur, and ensure that every student feels protected and valued.

To help further this mission, I have recently undergone extensive training such as Crisis Intervention, to which, I am also the on call Crisis Intervention Officer for the City of Sumiton, who deals with suicidal people, people that might find themselves in the midst of a mental health crisis, and Crisis negotiation. All of which are very crucial needs amongst our youth these days. I am also a certified School Resource Officer and am nationally recognized through the National Association of School Resource Officers. Lastly, I attended specialized training for adolescent mental health to better serve our children on a day to day basis, and to better understand why they think the way they think, and act the way they act.

Another key goal I have is education. I aim to teach students about responsibility, respect, and making wise choices; both in and out of school. By mentoring students and modeling integrity, fairness, and compassion, I hope to positively influence their character, and strengthen their decision making skills.

Above all, I am committed to serving this school with care, professionalism, and respect, while supporting the Christian values that guide Sumiton Christian Schools. Together, we can create an environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to reach their God given potential.
